I am 35 years old and born and bred in Thetford. After leaving Charles Burrell High School I began working for Keystone Development Trust, managing the Abbey Neighbourhood Centre. From there I worked for Norfolk-based charity the Benjamin Foundation. I became the first manager of the Meet Up Café, co-ordinating the conversion of the redundant Redcastle Community Centre into a drop-in and support centre for children and young people. I was elected to Thetford Town Council in 2008 at the age of 22 and re-elected in 2011 when I was also elected to Breckland Council. I joined Norfolk County Council in 2013 at a by-election and was successfully re-elected in 2017. In 2019 I became Chief Executive of Charles Burrell Centre on an interim basis to support the progress of the organisation.
Aside from politics I run my own business – the popular About Thetford magazine which is delivered monthly to 13,000 homes and businesses in Thetford and the surrounding villages. I am a keen walker and will normally be seen out and about, litter-picking as I walk.
