My name is Julie Brociek-Coulton and I am standing for the County Council seat for Sewell Division. I am a mother of four lovely women, am married to Terry and have a cat called Felix and a dog called Jasper. I have been a city councillor for 16 years and County Councillor for 8 years. I am the carers champion for Norfolk County Council and have been for the past 8 years and feel I have really made a difference to raising the profile to carers in Norfolk.
I am the secretary for Sewell Community Group and Friends, Norwich in Bloom and Norwich Access group. I have my own Rainbow pack and have been a guider for 23 years but, we haven’t been able to meet since March 2020.
I helped to win the Silver Road Community Centre for our residents, which took six years and we won in 2013 and I have been the manager since it opened six years ago. I have also helped to open up the Silver Parcels foodbank at Silver Road Community Centre which opened on October 8th 2020 and since it opened we have helped 354 people with food parcels. I have also organised the free packed lunches for families who do not meet the criteria for free school meals. We started these at the beginning of 2020 and we are up to date just in this year made 3,000 packed lunches. We have also had lots of volunteers come on board and so we have people to make sandwiches but also to deliver the sandwiches too.
I love my district of Sewell and it really makes me happy that the Sewell residents have been so proactive during Covid helping others during such uncertain times.
