I have worked in education for almost 27 years, including eight wonderful years as Headteacher of Sir John Leman High School in Beccles.
Throughout my working life I have believed in the importance of public service, and of a strong state which serves to protect and support citizens. I believe that public education is profoundly important; it is the greatest gift that a society can give.
I believe in fairness, kindness, and taking responsibility.
I was the first Labour candidate to be elected in South Norfolk for twenty years when I became a South Norfolk Councillor in 2019; I have used this position to form a local Help Group, as well as responding to hundreds of individual enquiries and concerns.
I am committed to a Labour Party victory in 2024. We must build our movement, and offer a cohesive and compelling alternative to the Tory one. An ambitious offer of hope, and belief in people, that can act as a beacon across our United Kingdom, from Cornwall to the Kingdom of Fife, from Orkney to Canterbury.
Profound constitutional reform, opportunity, strong public services, a fairer country.
I believe the time has come for us to be bold and to be ambitious; a time to believe in, defend and build a United Kingdom, and that this crusade starts, for us, with a stronger vote, and some key victories, in Norfolk.
